Anxiety is a common response to stress. Some people are genetically prone to be anxious. External stress is often unavoidable. Panic is a heightened, relatively short-lived form of anxiety with intense emotions and unpleasant physiological symptoms.
Anxiety symptoms include:
- Anxious feelings
- Excessive worry that is difficult to control
- Feeling edgy or restless
- Fatigue
- Difficulty concentrating
- Body aches
- Difficulty sleeping
- Panicky feelings
Together we can work on shifting perspectives and thinking in a way that decreases anxiety. Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are great tools in this work. Additionally, we can work on tolerating and navigating emotions, and learn techniques for self-calming.
